Your privacy matters. This dictionary is offline-first. Learning data stays on your device unless you use optional online features described below.

Permissions we use
- INTERNET & ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE — optional word images (Wikipedia, Openverse, Wikimedia Commons), ML Kit model download, Google Play billing, in-app updates, and online multiplayer.
- ACCESS_WIFI_STATE & CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE — local peer discovery for multiplayer on the same network.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — only if you enable daily Word of the Day reminders (Android 13+).
- BILLING — Premium subscriptions through Google Play.
Offline dictionary
Search, saved words, history, games, streaks, and grammar lessons use the bundled SQLite database and local Room/DataStore storage. No account is required.

- Optional display name for multiplayer (if you set one)

ML Kit translation
When a word is missing from the offline dictionary, or on the Translate screen, Google ML Kit runs on your device. Models download once over the internet; translated text is not sent to our servers and is only cached in memory for the session.
Word images
Optional thumbnails may be fetched from public APIs (Wikipedia, Openverse, Wikimedia Commons) using the word you looked up. Author and license are shown in word details when available.
Premium
Optional Google Play subscription unlocks all themes, unlimited Word of the Day refresh, game and grammar hints, and unlimited streak restore after a missed day. The full grammar course remains available to everyone.
Payments are handled by Google Play. We do not store card numbers. Manage or cancel under Google Play → Payments & subscriptions.
Text selection lookup
When you choose See meaning from another app, only the selected word is read to show a definition. No other text from that app is collected.
Online multiplayer
Matchmaking uses public WebTorrent trackers and local Wi‑Fi multicast discovery; gameplay uses WebRTC peer connections. Display names you enter may be visible to opponents.
Notifications
Daily Word of the Day reminders are scheduled on your device with WorkManager. We do not operate a push notification server.
Updates & Play Store
In-app updates and review prompts use Google Play services when the app is installed from Play.

We do not sell your personal information or build advertising profiles.
Children
This is a general-audience education tool; it is not directed at children under 13 as a primary audience. Parents should supervise optional online multiplayer.
Your choices
- Use the app offline without notifications or online play
- Manage or cancel Premium in Google Play
- Uninstall the app to remove local data
Changes
We may update this policy when features change. The in-app Settings → Privacy policy screen reflects important updates. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page will change when we publish revisions here.
